Maria Torres

New Bedford – Maria Laura Torres, age 82 years, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Torres. Mrs. Torres was the beloved mother of Joseph Torres of New Bedford and Lillian Torres Raposo and her husband Duarte of Rochester, Ma. Maria was the sister of Manuel Rego of Canada and Herminia Rego of St. Michael, Azores, and the late Maria do Carmo Rego. Maria is also survived by 3 grandchildren.

Mrs. Torres was a daughter of the late Herminia (Machado) and Manuel Do Rego. She was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and has lived in this area since 1963. Mrs. Torres was employed as a Stitcher at several Dress Factories.

Mrs. Torres’ funeral was Private. Arrangements were thru Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St.
