New Bedford – Albert E. Sylvia, age 95, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a short period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Carolina A. (Serra). Mr. Sylvia was born in New Bedford, a son of Lucy (Thomas) and Manuel S. Sylvia. He was a lifelong resident of this area and worked as a Supervisor at Aerovox Corporation.
His survivors include his wife, Carolina; a son, Barry E. Sylvia and his wife Beatrice, of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren: Brandon E. Sylvia and Dr. Lisa M. Sylvia O’Connell; a great granddaughter, Enara Grace O’Connell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Private services were placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
