Doris Sylvia

New Bedford – Doris Sylvia, age 83 of New Bedford, passed away peacefully at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. She was the daughter of Mary (Reed) and Melville Sherman. Doris was a life-long resident of this area and worked as a Solderer at Cornell Dubilier until her retirement.

She is survived by her 2 children: Bruce Sylvia and Joyce Donnelly, both of New Bedford; 2 siblings: Lynwood Sherman of California and Lucille Venter of New Hampshire; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sylvia was predeceased by several siblings.

A Memorial Service with her cremated remains present will take place in the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:30 A.M. Arrangements placed in the care of PERRY FUNERAL HOME, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
