Alice Ferreira

New Bedford – Alice Ferreira, age 84 of New Bedford, passed away, peacefully, at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home on Sunday, July 27, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and was the daughter of Mary (Estrella) and Antone V. Ferreira. She worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Co as a Tire Builder until her retirement.
Her surviving family includes a son: Stephen A. Ferreira of New Bedford; a grandson, Robert Christopher Ferreira, of Jacksonville, Fla; 4 siblings: John B. Ferreira of Tuscon, Arizona, Elaine De Oliveira and August Ferreira, both of New Bedford, and Labinia Bala of Fairhaven; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Robert A. Ferreira, and 4 siblings: Francisco Ferreira, Lionel Ferreira, Anthony Ferreira and Rose Spencer.
Her funeral will be Thursday, July 31 beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 – 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
