Dorothy Furtado

New Bedford – Dorothy Furtado, age 94 of Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the daughter of Mary and Manuel Vieira.
A lifelong resident of this area, Mrs. Furtado devoted her life to the upbringing of her family.
Her family includes her 2 children: Robert Furtado and his wife, Lia, of Taunton and Jennifer Prenda of Dartmouth; 6 grandchildren: Robert Furtado, Jr., Bruce Furtado, Stacy Joaquin, Sherry Prenda, Kelly Prenda and Heather Prenda; as well as 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by several siblings.
Dorothy will be cremated. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, January 31 from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, Ma.
