Jose Raul Ortiz

New Bedford – Jose Raul Ortiz, age 64 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday February 13, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the Loved husband of Marilyn “Bonnie” Ortiz and son of the late Lydia E. (Mateo) and Encarnacion Ortiz. Jose was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico and came to this Country at the age of 5. He worked at various Factories as a Laborer as well as working as a Delivery driver for Concord food in Avon.
His surviving family includes his wife Marilyn, his children: Yazmin “Mindy” Ortiz, Wanda Barboza, Lisa Marcano, Jeannette Ortiz, Jose M. Ortiz and Darche Ortiz, 16 Grandchildren and 2 great great Grandchildren. his Siblings: Carlos Ortiz, Gladys Torres, Esteban Ortiz, Aida Valentin, Migdalia Ortiz and Doris Ortiz, and several other older brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will take place on Thursday February 18 from 4-6 P.M. with a service during visitation. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
