Arthur S. Correia

Dartmouth — Arthur S. Correia, age 93, passed away on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. He was the loving widower of Elsie (Carvalho) Correia and the son of the late Manuel and Deolinda (Ferreira) Correia.

Arthur was born in Dartmouth and spent all of his life in this area. He was a skilled carpenter and was the head of Carpentry Shop at Concordia Boatyard from 1945 – 1984.

His surviving family includes 2 children: Sharon Correia of New Bedford and Stephen Correia and his wife, Mary of Burlington, Ma; 2 grandchildren: Timothy Correia and Ryan Elizabeth Stirling and her husband, Richard; and 3 great grandchildren: Thomas, James and Abigail.

Arthur was predeceased by 2 brothers, Edmund and Manuel Correia

His funeral will be Monday beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church of South Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
