New Bedford - Maria Margarida (Vassal) Martins, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mrs. Martins was the wife of Jose Manuel Martins. She was the sister of John Vassal of Westport, Carlos Vassal of New Bedford, Jose M. Vassal, Antonio Vassal of S. Dartmouth, Mario Vassal, Eliza Rebello, Nancy Adriano, all form New Bedford, Dorothy Almeida of Acushnet. Aslo had Several Nieces And Nephews.
Mrs. Martins was born in Agua De Pau,Sao Miguel.Azores.Portugal. She has lived in the New Bedford area since 1967. She was the daughter of the late Jose M. Vassal. Silvina (Adriano) Vassal.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday December 16, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 6-9 P.M., on Thursday December 15, 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
