New Bedford – Andrew Robert Winslow, age 24, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 18, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in New Bedford, MA, he was the beloved son of Andrew Edward and Norma Jean (Drayton) Winslow.
Andrew, who liked to be called Drew, was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and had also attended the American International College. Drew had worked as a cook for Freestones Restaurant and had recently been a cook for the Havenwood Rest Home. He loved to socialize, had his black belt in Karate, played football and basketball and was an all-around athlete.
He is survived by his parents, Andrew and Norma Jean; brother, Jáheim K. Winslow of New Bedford; grandmothers, Michele Winslow and Jeneva Drayton; girlfriend, Amanda Johnson of Acushnet; as well as several cousins. He was the grandson of the late Robert B. Williams and Antonio M. Dias, great-grandson of the late Verma Lewis and godson of the late Michelle Ramos.
Drew’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning, December 3rd at Our Lady of Assumption Church at 9:00 A.M. The family has kindly requested that everyone who plans on attending to please meet directly at the church.
