Frances E. (Morris) Lopes

New Bedford – Frances E. (Morris) Lopes, age 88, of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter S. Lopes.

Frances was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Frank and Hilda (Roderiques) Morris. She had been a loving homemaker to her family. Frances loved to play bingo and the slots.

She is survived by her children, Michael F. Lopes and his wife Patricia and Mark W. Lopes and his wife Kathryn; 5 grandchildren, John W. Lopes, Olivia J. Lopes, Amy Dupuis, Peter Cardoso and Lisa Soares; siblings, Richard Morris and Maureen Morris; brother-in-law, Dennis Costa; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Robert Morris, Sharon Costa and Donna Morris and aunt of the late Dr. Candice Costa.

Frances’s visiting hours with her cremains present will take place Sunday February 23rd from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. in the funeral home. A memorial mass will take place Monday Feburary 24th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Julie Biliart Church in Dartmouth. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church.
