Jose E. Amaral

Dartmouth – Jose E. Amaral, age 67, of Dartmouth, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Hathaway Manor. He was the beloved husband of Mary Jo (Oliveira) Amaral.

Jose was born in St. Michael, Azores to the late Manuel Pacheco Amaral and Filomena Pacheco Amaral. Jose had worked for Cumming Corporation, a military supply company, for many years. He enjoyed watching many sports on television including, hockey, basketball, baseball and he especially loved watching soccer and his favorite team, Benfica.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; sister, Aida Amaral of New Bedford; his mother, Filomena; sisters, Leontina Amaral, Filomena M. Amaral, Susana Amaral Silva and her husband Francisco Silva and Nelia Amaral and her husband Paul Menezes; brothers, Octavio Amaral and his wife Marta and Carlos Amaral and his wife Maria do Ceu Amaral, all of São Miguel, Açores; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jose’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 27th from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will take place on Friday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
