New Bedford - Eugenio Rego Mello, died Monday, February 6, 2005 at St. Lukes Hospital. He was the husband of the late Maria (Mello) Mello, father of Joseph T. DeMello of New Bedford, Norbert DeMello of Mattapoisett and Edgar M. DeMello of Freetown. Mr. Mello was the brother of the late Deodato Furtado.
Mr. Mello was born in Ribeira Quente, St. Michael Azores, Portugal and has lived in this area since 1953. He was the son of the late Mariano T. And Maria Nascemento (Rego) Mello. Mr. Mello was the former proprietor of Mello’s Fish Market.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 10, 2005 at 9 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 4 - 8 P.M., on Thursday, February 9, 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
