Ermelinda (Emily) Carreiro

New Bedford – Ermelinda (Emily) Carreiro passed away at home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 96 on April 13, 2020.

Emily was born on July 22, 1923 to the late Serafim and Ermelinda Adriano in São Miguel. She was one of 9 siblings. Emily was the beloved wife of the late Jacinto Carreiro.

Emily is survived by her eldest daughter, Lucilia Carreiro and her spouse Viriato Carreiro, her middle daughter, Tina Ponte and her spouse José Ponte and her youngest child, her son, Carlos Carreiro and his spouse Honorina Carreiro.

Emily is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and their spouses and her 7 great-grandchildren.

Emily was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She always seemed to find the good in people no matter what. She was a positive human being with a heart of gold. Emily was a dedicated believer to the Church and God. She will truly be missed. Our Guardian Angel.

Emily’s funeral services will be private due to the recent mandated restrictions in regards to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this very difficult time.
