Edward G. "Ted" Williams, Jr.

New Bedford – Edward G. “Ted” Williams, Jr., age 67, of New Bedford passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was the beloved son of the late Edward G. Williams, Sr. and Marion G. (Avila) Williams.

Ted had worked as a Marine Safety Trainer for Hercules Marine Equipment and Supply Company for many years. He loved the ocean, his family and his friends and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter, Anne M. Williams; his sister, Marion W. Calbough-Insabella; his companion, Sue Moniz; his goddaughter, Elizabeth Vargas; grand“doggie”, Fox Williams; his in-laws, Manuel Vargas and his wife Marybeth, Mario Vargas, Francisco Vargas and his wife Carrie and Alda Vargas and former husband Wesley Roderiques; his former wife, Lucia Vargas Williams; his nieces and nephews, Lauren Vargas, Samantha Vargas, Maryjean Foote, Francisco Vargas, Matthew Vargas, Katherine Vargas, Jennifer Silveira, Christopher Rodriques and Peter Roderiques; as well as all of his friends who were like family to him.

He was predeceased by his brother Joseph O. Williams.

Ted’s funeral services will be private due to the recent mandated restrictions in regards to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
