Michelle Clay

New Bedford – Michelle Clay, age 37, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at her home. Born in New Bedford, MA she was the beloved daughter of John J. Clay and the late Maria L. (Souza) Clay.

Michelle had worked as a waitress and a cook at The Mill Restaurant in Acushnet. She loved spending time with her family, especially her son, Dillon, who was the highlight of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Michelle is survived by her loving dad, John; her beloved and adored son, Dillon Sousa; former companion, Paul Sousa; her sister, Rachel Clay and her husband Sergio; niece, Abby Claudina; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Michelle’s visiting hours will be held in the morning, prior to her funeral service on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Perry Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery.

All attendees for visiting hours and church services are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering and to practice social distancing of 6 feet. Attendance will be limited at both places in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions.
