Antonio Rodrigues

New Bedford - Antonio Rodrigues, died February 26, 2006 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Doris M. (Soares) Rodrigues of Acushnet, MA. He was the father of Anthony Rodrigues, husband of Colleen of Smithfield, RI. and Paula Lomax, wife of Robert M. of Somerset, MA.. He was the grandfather of Brian Rodrigues, Jennifer Rodrigues and Robert Justin Lomax. He was also the brother of William Rodrigues of Acushnet, MA. Mr. Rodrigues was also the brother of the late Maria Rodrigues, Manny Rodrigues, John Rodrigues, Matilda Rapoza, George Rodrigues and Josephine Martins.

Mr. Rodrigues was the son of the late Justinho and Mary (DeJesus) Rodrigues. He was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all of his life. He was the parts manager at Whitney J. Bent Pontiac and John Dugan Pontiac – Buick. Mr. Rodrigues was the corresponding secretary for Club Sport Madeirense S.S. Sacramento, Inc. and he also served as the Treasurer of the 1992 Feast of the Blessed Sacrament.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 5 - 8 P.M. on Wednesday, March 1, 2006.
