New Bedford – Manuel A. Joaquim, age 85, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Southpointe Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Fernanda (Silva) Joaquim.

Born in Madeira Island, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel Joaquim and Joanna (Goncalves) Joaquim. He had worked for Johnson & Johnson Hospital Supply Company for many years.

He is survived by his son, Pablo F. Joaquim and his wife Victoria of Westport; grandchildren, Michaela Gilbert, Dominique Joaquim, Nicholas Joaquim and Olivia Joaquim. He is also survived by 5 siblings; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of several late siblings.

Manuel’s visiting hours and funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home. Attendance in church and at the cemetery will also be limited to meet capacity restrictions. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this time.
