Fernanda Maria Pinhancos

New Bedford – Fernanda Maria Pinhancos, age 82, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 unexpectedly at her home. She had been the beloved wife of the late Alvaro P. Pinhancos.

Born in Linhares da Beira, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Mr. Bernardo Mimoso and Mrs. Candida (Rodrigues) Mimoso. She had worked as a stitcher for Justin Clothing for many years.

Fernanda is survived by her son, Manuel Pinhancos and his wife Ana; her daughter, Emilia Pina and her husband Dwayne; 7 grandchildren, Derrick Pinhancos, Tanya Pinhancos, Alyssa Moniz, Brett Fortes, Stephin Fortes, Chelsea Pinto and Neriah Pina and 9 great-grandchildren.

Fernanda is also survived by her siblings, Maria Helena Mimoso, Antonio Augusto Mimoso, Jose Maria Mimoso and David Mimoso; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Adelaide Mimoso, Maria de Lourdes Mimoso and Maria do Conceicao Mimoso.

Fernanda’s visiting hours will be held on Friday evening, November 27, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will be Saturday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
