Mary C. Pereira

New Bedford - Mary C. Pereira of New Bedford, Ma. passed away November, 26, 2020.

Born in Angra do Heroismo, Terceira Island, Portugal, Mary was the daughter of Armando Pereira and Maria Goulart Pereira. She was also the loving sister of Jose Pereira. Mary is survived by her devoted sister, Armanda Paiva, and her niece, Debra Flood, and her nephew Marcos Paiva. Also, her great nieces and nephew, Kaitlin Flood, Sarah Grace Flood, Catharine Paiva, and Joseph Paiva. In addition, her beloved great-great nephews, Liam Gadomski and Julian Lubo, whom she adored.

Mary was employed by the Acushnet Company in the golf ball division. Upon her retirement she volunteered in the office of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church rectory. Mary was a very devout Catholic and had many roles in her church community, from teaching religious education to administering communion. Mary was also a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Women’s Club.

Mary will always be fondly remembered for her delicious sought after baked goods. Mary will most importantly be deeply missed for her love, laughter, and her fun-loving energetic personality. Mary’s liveliness was a magnet for all of the children.
