New Bedford – Virginio Borges, age 86, of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Araujo) Borges.
Virginio was born in St. Michael, Azores to the late Virginio and Ana deEstrela (Caetano) Borges. He had worked at Carol Cable as well as Stop and Shop.
Virginio is survived by his children, son, Jose Borges and his wife Maria Borges, daughter, Maria Borges-Iria and her husband Paulo Iria, son, Robert Borges and his wife Carla Figueiras- Borges and daughter, Elisabeth DaSilva and her husband, Rick DaSilva; daughter-in-law, Julietta Borges; grandchildren, Ethan, Maegan, Amy, Jason and Joey; as well as several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his late son, Sergio Borges and by his late granddaughter, Monica.
Visiting Hours are omitted. His Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will take place on Friday, march 26th at 9:00 A.M. Everyone attending is kindly asked to go directly to the church.
Burial will immediately follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact.
