Alda M. (Cabral) Medeiros

Dartmouth – Alda M. (Cabral) Medeiros, age 90, of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Brandon Woods Dartmouth. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel J. Medeiros.

Alda was born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, to the late Luis Cabral and Maria (Alves) Cabral. She had worked as a stitcher for a local clothing manufacturer for many years.

Alda is survived by her 3 children, Maria C. Caldas, Mario Medeiros and his wife Ana and Fernanda Pereira and her late husband Joe; 4 grandchildren, Jason Caldas, Neil Pereira, Shanda Medeiros and Kyle Medeiros; great-grandchild, Jaelyn Marie Caldas; 3 sisters: Gilda Vasconcelos, Fernanda Jacob, Bieiana Cabral; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 6 siblings: Manuel Cabral, Jose Cabral, Aniceto Cabral, Almerinda Alexander, Teresa Almeida and Maria J. Mateus.

Alda’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5:00 P.M – 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place Friday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
