Luisa B. (Simao) Pimentel

New Bedford – Luisa B. Pimentel, age 91, of Dartmouth, MA passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Fernando Pimentel.

Luisa was born in St. Michael, Azores. She was the daughter of the late Jose and Maria daGloria (Barbosa) Simao.
She had moved to this country in 1978. Luisa was a dedicated loving mother to her family. She was an active member of the Espirito Santo Club. She had worked in various clothing manufacturing companies until her retirement.

She was the loved mother of her surviving sons, Fernando Pimentel and his wife Susan Pimentel of New Bedford, Renato DaCosta and his companion Lucy Aguiar of New Bedford, Manuel Francisco DaCosta and his wife Fatima DaCosta of New Bedford, Jaime DaCosta of New Bedford, David DaCosta and his wife Donna DaCosta of Freetown and Marco DaCosta of New Bedford; daughter-in-law and wife of the late Carlos Pimentel, Maria Pimentel; grandchildren, David, Patricia, Joey, Jeffrey, Derek, Brian, Marco, Sergio, Gary, Natasha, Cory, Tabitha, Tiffani, Kyle, Katelyn, and Dominique; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Tavares and Almorinda Simao; brother, Jose Simao; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Carlos Pimentel and sister of the late Maria Vitoria, Maria DeJesus, Aubertina, Deolinda Estrela, Maria DeDeus and Manuel.

Luisa’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place Friday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. john’s Cemetery.
