Jose D. Lucas

New Bedford – Jose D. Lucas, age 79 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at St Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Antonieta (Do Carmo) Lucas.

Jose was born in Setubal, Portugal to the late Domingos Lucas and Isolina Da Piedade Viana. He had worked as a supervisor for AFC Cable for many years.

Jose loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved soccer, his favorite team was Vitória de Setúbal. Jose loved learning new things all the time, especially the French language.

Jose is survived by his 2 children, Michelle Russell and Debra Thompson and her husband Ken; 4 grandchildren, Chelsea Thompson, Trevor Thompson, Nicholas Russell and Joscelyne Russell; father of grandchildren Nicholas and Joscelyne, Roger Russell; 2 great-grandchildren, Robert Alves III and Kayden Alves.

The celebration of Jose's life will be posted at a later date.
