Heldeberto Fernandes

New Bedford – Heldeberto Fernandes, age 88, of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday January 30, 2022 at home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Angelita (Pires) Fernandes.

Heldeberto was born in Sal, Cape Verde Island to Maria (Rocha) Fernandes. He worked at a Salt Mining Company in the office.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angelita, sons, Francisco, Jorge, Helder, Ramiro, Heldeberto, Luis, and Amilcar Fernandes, daughter, Maria Fernandes Rodrigues, 24 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, 5 brothers and 2 sisters as well as several nieces and nephews.

Heldeberto's visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2-5 P.M.at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will take place on Monday, February 7th beginning at Perry Funeral Home at 8 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Assumption Church at 9 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
