Fay Sabija

New Bedford – Fay Sabija, age 82, of New Bedford passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Savoy Nursing Home. Born in New Bedford, MA she was the beloved daughter of Abedin Sabija and Zeat “Sarah” (Hassan) Sabija.

Fay had been a stitcher at various local clothing manufacturers over the years. She loved animals, especially cats. She enjoyed growing and maintaining her indoor plants, crocheting, watching classic movies and reading novels.

She is survived by her daughter, Victoria R. Sabija of New Bedford; her beloved life partner, Francis O. “Sonny” Marlowe and her much loved cat, Laila.

Fay’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held in the funeral home on Thursday morning, beginning at 10:30 A.M. with a service to take place at 11:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
