Otilia (Santos) Medeiros

New Bedford – Otilia (Santos) Medeiros, age 93, of New Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Medeiros.

Otilia was born in New Bedford, MA and was the loved daughter of the late Antone S. Palaio and Docura (Santos) Palaio. She had worked in the Veteran’s Administration Department for many years. She loved the beach, animals, and spending time with family. She also donated to many charities over the years.

Otilia is survived by her children, Arthur B. Medeiros, Jr., Edmund J. Medeiros and his wife Maria, Paul J. Medeiros and her daughter, Elaine; as well as her grandchildren including Jessica Medeiros, Jason Medeiros, Erica Medeiros and Adam Medeiros; her great-grandchildren, including Jared, Isaiah, Eric, Raven, Alex and Samantha; and her sister-in-law, Kathy and nephews, Michael and David.

Otilia’s service and visiting hour with her cremains will take place on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Visitation will be held at Perry Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. and will be followed by a Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John's Cemetery.
