Alexandrina (Soares) Pinarreta

New Bedford – Alexandrina (Soares) Pinarreta, age 84, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio M. Pinarreta.

Alexandrina was born in St. Michael, Azores and was the beloved daughter of the late Joao Soares and Maria (Pacheco) Soares. She had been a stitcher for a local clothing manufacturer for many years and a member of the International Ladies Garment Worker Union.

She is survived by her son, John M. Pinarreta and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Alyssa Benevides and her husband Alex, Tiffany Pinarreta and Jonathan Pinarreta; great-grandchild, Ayden Benevides; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Antonio M. Pinarreta, Jr. and sister of the late John Soares.

Alexandrina’s visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will take place Tuesday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
