Maria Martins

New Bedford – Maria (de Oliveira) Martins, age 93, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Weber R. Martins.

Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Jose de Oliveira Cordeiro and Emilia da Conceicao Cordeiro. She had been at stitcher at Mickey Madan’s for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Fernanda M. Lewis and her husband Joseph; her son, Paul G. Martins; grandchildren, Joseph A. Lewis, Melissa Ann Lewis and Matthew P. Lewis; great-grandson, Cameron J. Lewis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held Monday, March 13, 2023 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. her funeral will take place Tuesday, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or the family kindly asks to consider making a donation in Maria’s memory to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund.
