Marinalva Delima

New Bedford – Marinalva DeLima, age 70, of New Bedford, MA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

Marinalva was the daughter of the late Joao DeLima and Judith Pereira DeLima of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Marinalva left Brazil in 1987, finding her new home in New Bedford, MA.

She worked in the sewing mills in New Bedford and later on becoming a care giver and a foster parent. She was also very devoted to her church.

Marinalva is survived by her son Marcelo Pereira DeLima; her grandchildren Brittany, Jaime, and Kaleb; her sisters Marenilda Melo and her husband Manuel Afonso Melo, and Marilane Valente; her brothers Luiz DeLima, Ailto DeLima, and Roberto Pereira Delima; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Marinalva’s visiting hours will be held Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 3:00PM to 6:00PM.

In Lieu of flowers a donation may be made to MSPCA-Angell.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford MA.
