Jose Sajvin Chicaj

New Bedford – Jose Sajvin Chicaj, age 49, of New Bedford, MA passed away on July 20, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born in Quiche, Guatemala, to Candida Chicaj-Chum and the late Vincente Garcia-Sajvin. He worked as a Truck Driver for Marders Trolley Seafood.

In his spare time Jose enjoyed exercising, watching soccer, fishing, long drives and spending time with his children. Most importantly he was a loving, patient and hard-working father.

Jose is survived by his children, Sherry, Jensy, John, and Joseph; three brothers and two sisters; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jose's visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Monday, July 24th from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. His funeral will take place on Tuesday, July 25th, beginning in the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. and followed by a service at 11:30 A.M. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery.
