New York Maria (Silva) St. Aubyn formerly of New Bedford passed away Tuesday September 26, 2006 in New York City She was the wife of the late Anthony St.Aubyn She was the Mother of Sister Maria Ines St. Aubyn of Portugal seven grandchildren Zita Cristina Nunes of Washington, D.C. Fredick Anthony Nunes of Philalphia, Maria Valentina Nunes of New York, NY., James Manuel Nunes of San Ramon, CA., Mark Joseph Nunes ofDes Moines, Iowa, Jacqueline Maria St. Aubyn of Long Island N.Y.and Celeste Ines St. Aubyn of Warwick N.Y. seven Greatgrandchildren Jazelle Ines Bailey, Mark Joseph Nunes, Christopher Joseph Nunes, Kathryn Lynn Nunes, Nasson Jechonias Bailey, Felix Nunes Sanchez, Brien Alden Pearce; and four siblings, Joaquim Brito Silva, Maria de Lourdes Silva and Jose Herculano Silva, and Silvestre Britto Silva.

Born in Sao Nicolau , Cabo Verde on Feb 5, 1911 Mrs. St.Aubyn was the Daughter of the late Francisco DeRosario and Paula Isabel (Brito) Silva she was formerly employed as a Teacher and was beloved by her students.She raised her three children including the late Valentina St. Aubyn Nunes and the late Edmundo Carlos Silva St. Aubyn aswell as four stepchildren, Olivea St. Aubyn, Luis Gonzaga St . Aubyn, and May St. Aubyn Barros.

Mrs. St. Aubyn came to the United States in 1955 remaining after her husband,s death with her daughter Valentina and son in law Manuel Joseph Nunes M.D. in Conneticut, to help them raise their five children.

Funeral Saturday from the Perry Funeral Home at 8 AM with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home.
