Virginia (Macabello) Gonsalves

New Bedford-Virginia (Macabello) Gonsalves died Friday September 29, 2006 at home. She was the loving wife of the late Victor Gonsalves, The mother of Victor and his wife Natalie of Fairhaven, Jeffrey and his wife Cindy of New Bedford, owner of JC Auto. Her sisters Rose Maudsley, Tina Moniz, Margaret Swick, all of Acushnet, and the late Mary Oliveira, and Manuel Medeiros. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren-Heidi, Jeffrey, Shayna, and Adam, and 4 great-grandchildren-Devyn, Tre’Sean, Nevaeh, and Jayela, and several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Gonsalves was the daughter of the late Jose Medeiros, and Rose Perry (Sylvia) Macabello. She lived in this area all her life. She formerly worked at Aerovox until 1978 when she retired to care for her granddaughter.

Her funeral will be Monday October 2. 2006 at 9:30 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Visiting hours will be Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Burial will followed at St. John Cemetery.
