Virginio Simas

New Bedford-Virginio Simas age 93 died Saturday December16, 2006 at Brandon Woods Nursing Home after a long illness. He was the husband of Alice M, (Medeiros) Simas of New Bedford, father of Lillian (Simas) Roza and her husband Albert of Easton, several cousins, godchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pimentel was the son of the late Angelo and Maria Adelino (Pacheco) Simas. He was born in New Bedford and lived here most of his life with the exception of 14 yrs in St. Michael, Azores. Mr. Simas was formerly employed as a loom fixer at the Gosnold Mill for 20 yrs. And also worked at Normandy Bedspread until his retirement.

His Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home Wednesday December 20, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 P.M.
