Deolinda (Mello) Gonsalves

Dartmouth – Deolinda (Mello) Gonsalves formerly of Westport, aged 87 years, died Monday, March 19, 2007 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the widow of Domingos Gonsalves. Mrs. Gonsalves was the mother of Robert Gonsalves of Westport and Helen Macek of Wareham and the late Dorothy Casey. She was the sister of Julia Nemeth of Dartmouth and Aurora Leduc of Tuscon, AZ., and the sister of the late Manuel Mello, Antone Mello and Mary Nunes. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gonsalves was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Jerome and Maria (Cardoza) Mello and lived in this area all of her life. She was a stitcher at Abetta Sportswear.

Mrs. Gonsalves’ Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. Thursday at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, South Dartmouth, at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
