Arthur F. Moniz

Fairhaven –Arthur F. Moniz, formerly of New Bedford age 95, died Friday, May 4, 2007 at Alden Court Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Mary M. (Morris) Moniz. Mr. Moniz was the father of Arthur J. husband of Cheryl Moniz of Fairhaven, and the late Mary Baldo. He was the brother of Richard Moniz of Penn and Veronica Silva of Fla. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Moniz was the son of the late John and Mary (Ignos) Moniz. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Moniz was a Presser for Dartmouth Finishing, and also was the proprietor of Moniz Tea and Coffee. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local #59.

Mr. Moniz's funeral will be Tuesday May 8, 2007, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9 A.M. with a Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church, on County St. Visiting hours will be Monday from 6 - 8 P.M. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, Ma 01701-9376
