Jose M. Pereira

New Bedford – Jose M. Pereira, age 49, died July 18, 2007 at Brigham and Women's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Fernanda M. Pereira of New Bedford. He was the father of Neil M. Pereira of New Bedford. Mr. Pereira was the brother of Tony M. Pereira of Providence, RI., and John M. Pereira of New Bedford, MA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.

Mr. Pereira was the son of Elisa (Vincent) Pereira of New Bedford, MA., and of the late Viriato T. Pereira. He was born in Azores, Portugal and lived in this area for the 40 years. He was employed as a forklift operator at Fall River Mfg. He enjoyed fishing with his son, watching movies, and loved being with people.

Mr. Pereiras’ funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9 A.M. on Saturday. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday 5 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
