New Bedford, MA. -Francisco Xavier Correia age 66 years passed away August 2, 2007 at his home. He was the husband of Zelia (Almeida) Correia of New Bedford MA. The father of Francisco M. Correia of Portugal, Lucy Furtado, Ana Correia, both of New Bedford MA. Natercia Meredith of Mashpee MA, Michael Correia of New Bedford, MA. Mr. Correira was the brother of Daniel Correia of New Bedford MA., Mazare Alfaiate, and Ana Hubright all of New Bedford, Jose Correia, and Jorge Correia both of Maryland, Luis Correia of Menton,MA.,Alzira Arraujo of Maine. He was also survived by 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Correia was born in Salga, St Michael, Azores. He was the son of Manuel Bento and Maria da Conceicao (Pacheco) Correia. Mr. Correia worked as a painter for Pacheco Hardware until his retirement.Mr Correia was a member of the Portuguese Sports club and he loved Poetry.

His Funeral will be Monday at 8:00 A.M at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will follow at St John Cemetery New Bedford MA.
