John R. "Nonnie" Fortes Jr.

St. Petersburg FL.– John R. “Nonnie” Fortes Jr. age 62 died Monday October 22, 2007 at his loving companion Virginia Brothers home. He was the brother of Marianne Rodriguez and Ann Silva both of New Bedford, and Avlino Fortes of San Diego, CA., and the late Peter Smith, Eddie Smith, and Gabriel Smith. He is also survived by several nieces, and nephews.

Mr. Fortes was the son of the late John R. and Florinda (Almeida) Fortes. He worked for the City of New Bedford at the Transfer Station. He was a U.S.Army Veteran of Viet-Nam.

Mr. Fortes’s Funeral at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. will be Monday October 29th. Reverend J.R. Chavier will officiate the 11:30 A.M. service. The Family will receive family and friends at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne following the service at 1:45 P.M.
