New Bedford –Judith Torres, age 57, died on Monday October 6, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the lifelong partner of Manuel S. Rivera of New Bedford. She was the mother of Elainie Marie Gonzales of New Bedford. Ms. Torres was the sister of Edwin Garcia, Louis Garcia both of New Bedford, William Garcia of Dartmouth, Sgt. David Torres of El Paso, Texas, Gally Rosario of New York, and Nancy Merrell of Ohio. She was the grandmother of Anthony Cruz Jr., Nikolas Jose Rodriguez and Destini Selena Rodriguez all of New Bedford.
Ms. Torres was the daughter of the late Esteban Torres and Margarita (Santiago) Mateo. She was born in New York, and lived in this area for the last 34 years.
In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.
