Domingos Jose Ventura

Providence,R.I. – Domingos Jose Ventura, age 79, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at R.I. Hospital. He was the husband of Maria Conceicao (Tavares) Ventura of New Bedford. Mr. Ventura was the father of Jorge M. Ventura of S. Dartmouth, Jose F. Ventura, Maria A. Medeiros, Julieta C. Borges and Lucia F. Carreiro all of New Bedford and Artemisia Ventura of Florida. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ventura was a son of the late Manuel Jose and Teresa do Carmo(de Lima) Ventura. He was born in Santa Cruz, Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and lived in this area for much of his life. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.

Mr. Ventura’s Funeral will be Wednesday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
