Elisa A. Sousa

New Bedford- Elisa A. Sousa age 96 died Thursday February 19 at St. Luke’s Hospital unexpectedly. Ms. Sousa was the aunt of Jose S. Cardoso of New Bedford and Jose N. Silveira of California. She was the sister of the late Maria daGloria Sousa and Joao Furtado Silveira. She is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews.

Ms. Sousa was the daughter of the late Joao Furtado and Maria Gloria (Silveira) Sousa. She was born in Flores, Azores, Portugal and has lived here since 1976.

Ms. Sousa’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Monday at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 5 to 8P.M.
