Boston – Manuel F. Sousa age 58 years passed away Thursday February 4, 2010. Manuel was the husband of Maria A. (DeMelo) Sousa of New Bedford. He was the father of Diane Figueroa wife of Joel, Manuel Sousa, Sandra Sousa fianceé of Luis Adao, Sheila Sousa fianceé of Juan Gomez all of New Bedford. He is survived by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sousa was a son of Gloria (Moniz) of New Bedford and Manuel Sousa. He was born in St. Michael, Azores. He has lived in this area since 1968. He was formerly employed by Aerovox Corporation.
Mr. Sousa's Funeral will be Tuesday at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery New Bedford MA. Visiting hours are Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
