New Bedford-Serafim Madeira of New Bedford died Thursday November 13, 2003 at home. He was surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Natalia (Almeida) Madeira; a son, Jose Madeira of New Bedford; a daughter Amelia L. Almeida of North Dartmouth, a son Carlos A. Medeira of East Taunton, a son John E. Madeira of New Bedford, He was the loving Grandfather of 8, He was the brother of Jose Madeira, Antonio Madeira, Maria do Carmo Reis and Maria de Jesus Almeida all of New Bedford, He was the brother of the late Manuel, Dinis, and Maria Amelia Maderia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Aqua de Pau, Sao Miguel Azores, the son of Serafim Madeira and Amelia de Jesus (Miguel) Madeira. Mr. Madeira was a member of the Teamsters Union Local # 59. And was a previous member of Portuguese Sports Club.

The funeral will be Saturday November 15, 2003 from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet Street. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours are Friday November 14th from 5:00- 9:00 PM at the funeral home. For Condolence Book and Directions go to www.perryfuneral.com
