New Bedford - Richie A. Baptista of New Bedford died Saturday November 15, 2003 in an automobile accident on Rte 18. He leaves his daughter Alyssa Baptista of New Bedford; his parents Joao G. and Maria ( Augusto) Baptista of New Bedford; his fiance Ana Viera of New Bedford; a brother Joao and his wife Diana of New Bedford; his maternal grandmother Maria Julia Rodrigues of New Bedford and his maternal great grandmother Mariana Rita of Portugal and several aunts, uncles and a niece

He was born in Newark, New Jersey, the son of Joao G. and Maria ( Augusto) Baptista. Mr. Baptista liked to ride bikes. He was a 1996 Graduate of New Bedford High School.

The funeral will be Wednesday from Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet Street. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford, Ma. Visiting hours are Tuesday November 18th from 6 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
