Augusto Almeida

New Bedford - Augusto Almeida , 89 of New Bedford, died Friday, December 5th at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Clementina Jesus (Andrade) Almeida. He is survived by his two sons Antonio Almeida of Florida and Jorge Almeida of California, two daughters Maria Faria wife of Albino of S.Dartmouth, and Louise Estrella of New Bedford, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Almeida was born in Fayal, Azores, Portugal, the son of Manuel and Maria (Ascencao) Almeida. He lived in this area since 1960. Mr. Almeida was a mason and worked for Souza and Sons doing construction.

The funeral will be Tuesday December 9, 2003 from Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church, County Street. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford, Ma. Calling hours are Monday December 8th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
