Sherlyne (Carr) Brocklehurst

New Bedford-Sherlyne Brocklehurst, age 83, died Friday, February 4, 2011 at The Royal Taber Street Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the Beloved wife of Richard F. Brocklehurst Sr.. She was the loved mother of Dawn Brocklehurst of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Sharon Onofrey and Richard F. Brocklehurst Jr. both of New Bedford. She was the grandmother of Kristy, Brian, Todd, Kerri and Aaron. Sherlyne was the great-grandmother of Kylee and Chloe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brocklehurst was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Smith) Carr. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all her life. She was a waitress with local restaurants. Sherlyne was a graduate of New Bedford High School.

Mrs. Brocklehurst funeral services will be at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. on Wednesday at10:30 A.M. with services beginning at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 4 – 7 P.M.
