John Joseph Vieira

New Bedford- John Joseph Vieira age 68 years, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mr. Vieira was the father of Victor and Nicholas Vieira both of Milwaukee, WI. John was the grandfather of Danny, Amber and Eleanor Vieira and the brother of Emelia Vieira of New Bedford.

Mr. Vieira was a son of the late Maria (Lopes) and John Goncalves Vieira. He was born in New Bedford and lived here until 1964, he moved to Wisconsin were he was an electrical engineer with Alas Charmers. John returned to this area in 1983 and worked as a security guard at Acushnet Company until his retirement.

Mr. Vieira’s funeral will be Monday at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. with a service at 12 noon. Visiting Hours will be Monday, prior to the service, from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated. Burial will take place at a later date at St. John Cemetery.
