Daniel Lewis

New Bedford– Daniel Lewis age 82 years, died Sunday April 18, 2011 at St lukes Hospital after a brief illness. Daniel was the loved husband of Cynthia (Mello) of Dartmouth. Loved father of Daniel W. Lewis of Dartmouth, brother of Barbara Richards of North Carolina.

Mr. Lewis was a son of the late Mary (Souza) and John G. Lewis, he was born in New Bedford and has lived in this area all of his life. He was employed as a security guard at St. Lukes Hospital until his retirement. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr Lewis’ funeral will be Friday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:45 A.M. with a Liturgy of the word at St. Mary’s Church Dartmouth at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited. A Pro-Burial Mass will be celebrated on Friday April 29th at St. Mary Church at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend
