Louisa G. Lopes

New Bedford – Louisa G. Lopes, died Tuesday August 16, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital. Louisa was the beloved wife of the late Serapio Lopes. She was the loving mother of Antonia Dias of New Bedford. Sister of Mary Silva of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews. Louisa is predeceased by her sisters Mary Pimentel and Rose Andrade.

Mrs. Lopes was a daughter of the late Ana Maria (Rosario) and Joaquim Manuel Gomes. She was born in Dartmouth lived in Cape Verde Islands for a while and moved back to New Bedford.. She worked at Aerovox for many years.

Mrs. Lopes’ funeral will be Monday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:45 A.M. with a service to be celebrated at Pentecostal Assemblia Church on Sawyer St in New Bedford at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery Visiting hours are Sunday evening from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
