Adelina M. (Mendonca) Couto

Adelina (Mendonca) Couto, age 95, of Dartmouth, MA, passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2025, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Silvino Couto.

Born on October 11, 1930, in Sao Miguel, Azores. Adelina was the cherished daughter of the late Mariano Mendonca and Maria dos Anjos (Pacheco) Mendonca. She dedicated a significant portion of her life to her work as a packer in the local fish plant, where her contributions were valued by many.

Adelina is survived by her loving sons, Thomas Couto of New Port Richey, FL, Albert Couto, Duarte Couto, and Paul Couto, all of Dartmouth; and her devoted daughter, Maria M. Couto of Fairhaven. Adelina was also a proud grandmother of seven and a great-grandmother to four, providing her family with boundless love and support throughout her life.

Adelina’s visiting hours will be held on Monday evening, December 1, 2025, at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place 9:00 AM Tuesday morning at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. She will be laid to rest in Rural Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA, which provides ample lighted parking and is equipped with a handicap-accessible ramp and entrance for all who wish to pay their respects.
